Scripta Materialia is a peer-reviewed scientific journal. It is the "letters" section of Acta Materialia and covers novel properties, or substantially improved properties of materials. Specific materials discussed are metals, ceramics and semiconductors at all length scales, and published research endeavors explore the functional or mechanical behavior of these materials.

It was editor-in-chief Hono in both submissions. Compared with other journals, my feeling is that Scripta Materialia had higher requirements for the innovation of the article. The editor didn’t blindly follow, the reviewers found were responsible, who review the article carefully, which was the reason why Scripta Materialia has an excellent reputation in the industry.
